      Description

It appears that wolves which are untamed and unnamed do not persist though the chunk being unloaded and reloaded.

      How to Replicate:

      • Create a empty CraftBukkit 1.7 server with level-seed=-8694698689408368509, server.properties included in ticket for ease of recreation.
      • Start server, log in, /op and /gamemode creative
      • /tp <NAME> 1666 68 -810
      • Note presence of Wolves, player facing north.
      • /tp <NAME> 0 70 0
      • Wait a few seconds
      • /tp <NAME> 1666 68 -810
      • Note lack of wolf presence

      Expected Behaviour:

      • Untamed/unnamed wolves should persist.

      Other Info:

      • Named wolves DO persist.
      • Tamed wolves DO persist.
      • Vanilla Mojang 1.7.2 does persist wolves.
      • Wolves spawned by Monster Egg also fail to persist.

One point - certainly in vanilla 1.6, unnamed/tamed wolves would only persist for 2 minutes (this is to give puppies a chance to grow up and be tamed)

Can you confirm vanilla wolves do persist past that point?

This is intended behaviour. We have our own persistence handling and feel that unremarkable wolves do not need to persist.
